This is the closest thing to a true "pre-op" pic I have. It was taken a week or two before the surgery. There is some question (at least in my mind) about how much I weigh here. The doctor's file says 483, but I can't remember if I actually weighed to get that figure, or if it was just a number I came up with.
I DO know that I weighed 472 on the morning of the surgery, so all of the weight-loss numbers I give are based on that. Since my file says 483, whenever I see the doctor or go to a support group meeting I have automatically lost 11 more pounds. That's kind of cool...
As I tried to put these pictures in order, I discovered that I had a terrible habit of not writing down when they were taken, or what my weight was. This picture on the right is the first post-op pic taken, by my buddy Dave. I am guessing that I was about 450 here. 
By reading old journal entries, I was able to make some "guesstimates" about my weight. I had promised Maria a pic to be posted when I got under 400 pounds, and I do believe this is the one (left). That makes me probably about 398 here, and my friend Bud would be the photographer. 
Brenda took this one (right). I am standing in front of her truck, "Nugget". I am weighing in at 368 in this one. I had lost 88 pounds by my birthday, so this must have been a few weeks after that. The outfit was a birthday present from my sister-in-law's mom and her hubby. Brenda also took a pic of my butt (clothed, not naked), maybe I'll post it sometime.
